MSI is proud to introduce the TI-2500 Well Stimulation Pump. We
designed this pump for the well stimulation (Frac) industry. The TI-2500 has higher rod
load capability than other Frac pumps in the industry. The higher rod load capability
was accomplished by designing larger journal bearings and using higher load carrying
roller bearings.
We designed this pump with a single side gear box for a specific reason. Since the bull
gear is fully supported by the gearbox, we eliminated a 38,000 foot pound bending force
from the crankshaft that is inherent in a dual bull gear arrangement.
We also eliminated stay bolts from the design. The fluid end is fully supported by the
power end, which results in better alignment between the crosshead bores and the plunger
packing. The bolts used to attach the fluid end to the power frame are high strength bolts
with bolt load indicators manufactured into the bolts. This allows for in-service
monitoring of bolt torque condition. It also allows proper tightening without relying on
torque wrenches.
All components of the pump were designed using Finite Element Analysis to assure long
pump life. The result is a very rugged, heavy duty Frac pump with a weight the same or
lower than competitors' 2000 horsepower range pumps!
The TI-2500, as with all our pumps, comes from the factory fully run in, and tested,
ready to mount on your truck and go to work. This pump, again like all our pumps, comes
with all the tools required for normal maintenance, as well as your choice of suction
manifolds, discharge flanges and with or without a gage connection.
The MSI packing assembly has the distinct advantage of limiting Fluid End damage due to
packing failures. In most pumps, weak plunger packing will produce "blow by" which will
tend to wash Fluid End sealing surfaces necessitating expensive repairs or complete
replacement of the damaged Fluid End. The MSI design isolates the sealing surfaces into
replaceable components; therefore packing failures will not damage the Fluid End. If
"blow by" does occur – the damage is limited to the packing assembly itself.
